Our Founding Story

TEC Publishing Company was born from a quiet but persistent desire to help people give voice to the stories they carry, the wisdom they’ve lived, and the impact they’re meant to make.

For over 13 years, our founder, Katherine Ile, wrote as a volunteer — crafting blog posts, ghostwriting for thought leaders, and shaping messages for ministries and creatives. Writing was always present, but never positioned as a career. It was service. It was soul work.

Then in 2024, something shifted. Katherine noticed that many African writers had powerful stories but lacked the structure, strategy, and support to birth them into books. They were stuck between inspiration and execution.

That realization sparked a vision — not just to help people write, but to help them publish with purpose.

In August 2024, TEC Publishing Company was founded as the publishing arm of The Eagle’s Communications Limited — a visionary company committed to building a sustainable creative and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Africa.

With a background in History and Diplomatic Studies, professional certifications in writing, literature, publishing, project management, and finance, and an MBA in progress, Katherine fused literary passion with strategic insight. Her advocacy for SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Innovation & Infrastructure) became part of TEC’s mission: to rebuild Africa’s literary future.

Since its founding, TEC has helped authors across Nigeria, Kenya, and the United States birth books that heal, teach, inspire, and endure — while training new writers through its writing academy.

At TEC, we don’t just publish books — we walk with authors from idea to impact, offering clarity, structure, and soul every step of the way.

This is more than a company. It’s a movement.
A movement to empower voices, preserve culture, and build legacy — one story at a time.
